Regular Season Round 18: Nanterre - Monaco 82-76

Date: January 30, 2016
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Monaco (13-5) against fifth ranked JSF Nanterre (12-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Monaco was defeated by JSF Nanterre in a tough game in Nanterre 76-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Monaco. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But Monaco won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (208-94) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American Mykal Riley (198-85, college: Alabama) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five JSF Nanterre players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Ghanian Billy Ouattara (191-92) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JSF Nanterre have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ASVEL and Strasbourg. Newly promoted Monaco still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Gravelines and Le Mans. JSF Nanterre will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Monaco will play against Chalon/Saor (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
