Regular Season Round 16: Almassera - Valencia II 65-49

The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Valencia-2's (10-5) road loss to second ranked Almassera (12-3) 49-65 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Almassera's pressure prevailed and they won that period 19-9 extending their advantage to 16 points. Forward Carlos Rodriguez (194-82) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jacobo Hofmann (198-92) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Miguel Martinez (183-95) produced 6 points and 4 assists and forward David Guardia (200-90) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Almassera maintains second position in Group E with 12-3 record having five points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Loser Valencia-2 keeps the third place with five games lost. Almassera will face Myrtia (#4) in Murcia in the next round. Valencia-2 will play at home against Sagunto and hope to win that game.
