There was no surprise when 13th ranked Estudiantes B (4-9) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Real Madrid II (7-6) 68-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid II. Estudiantes B was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Estudiantes B was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Daniel De La Rua (181-97) fired 19 points for the winners. Senegalese power forward Samba Thiago Ndiaye (202-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Diego Gonzalez (188-96) produced 11 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid II have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Real Canoe. Loser Estudiantes B dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Real Madrid II will face league's leader Albacete on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Estudiantes B will play against Alcobendas (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
