Regular Season Round 10: Ciego de Avila - Guantanamo 72-71

Sixth-ranked Guantanamo (3-6) made lots of trouble for third ranked Ciego (7-3) in Avila. Ciego managed to secure only one-point victory 72-71. However their fans expected easier game. Ciego forced 23 Guantanamo turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Yasser Rodriguez (187-88) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 steals. Guard Davisley Granados (185-83) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Elvis Pons (194-83) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Rafael Favier (179-89) added 17 points in the effort for Guantanamo. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ciego have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Capitalinos. Guantanamo at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Ciego will play against Tigres (#4) in Camaguey in the next round. Guantanamo will play on the road against Los Toros in Artemisa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
