Regular Season Round 15: Bourges - Lyon 72-62

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Lyon (7-7) was defeated on the road by second ranked Bourges (12-2) 72-62. Lyon was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 37-26 second half run of Bourges. They made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for British Johannah Leedham (180-87, college: Franklin Pierce) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American-Serbian forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) accounted for 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Bourges players scored in double figures. Bourges' coach Valerie Garnier allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian Dajana Butulija (176-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for Lyon in the defeat. Bourges have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Lattes Montp. Lyon at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Hainaut. Bourges will play against Angers (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lyon will play against Nantes Reze (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
