Everything went according to plan in Saint-Amand where ninth ranked Hainaut (7-7) beat 13th ranked COB Calais (3-12) 62-49. The game was mostly controlled by Hainaut. COB Calais was better in third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding COB Calais to just 7 points in second quarter. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Joyce Cousseins-Smith (165-88) who led the winners and scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Spanish guard Laura Garcia (176-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Hainaut's coach Fabrice Fernandes allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Marie Mbuyamba (184-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American center Bethany Doolittle (193-93, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for COB Calais in the defeat. Hainaut have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lyon. COB Calais lost fifth consecutive game.
