Rather predictable result in Lugo where sixth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (9-7) beat 10th ranked Real Celta Vigo (5-11) 61-57 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Real Celta Vigo won third quarter 10-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Maquinaria Ensino won last quarter 19-16. Maquinaria Ensino had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Ivy Abiona (187-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Gamble Sports Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Cristina Loureiro (183-94) produced 24 points and guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Real Celta Vigo's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Maquinaria Ensino maintains sixth position in Group A with 9-7 record, which they share with Arxil Pontev. and C.Adelantados. Loser Real Celta Vigo keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face Arxil Pontevedra (#8) on the road in the next round. Real Celta Vigo will play against Adareva and hope to win that game.
