Regular Season Round 16: Rivas Promete - Andratx 75-60

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rivas Promete (12-4) defeated at home 13th ranked Andratx (3-13) 75-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rivas Promete. Andratx was better in third quarter 16-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rivas Promete dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Andratx's 24. Rivas Promete forced 21 Andratx turnovers and outrebounded them 48-28 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Rivas Promete's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Belen Mejias (180-91) produced 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Esther Morillo (169-79) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Rivas Promete moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Sant Adria. Andratx lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Rivas Promete will face Barcelona (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Andratx will play against Olimpico 64 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
