Regular Season Round 21: Slovan - Samorin 71-70

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Extraliga took place in Bratislava. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Samorin (9-11) to fifth ranked Slovan (8-13) 71-70 on Saturday evening. Samorin was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Slovan, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was center Renata Talajkova (189-81) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Hana Krizmova (170-85) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Angelika Slamova (173-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Zuzana Mracnova (180-80) added 23 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Slovan maintains fifth place with 8-13 record. Samorin at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Slovan are looking forward to face league's second-placed MBK Ruzomberok on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samorin will play against BAM Poprad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
