Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Znicz Basket (13-8) outplayed 14th ranked AZS AWF Mick. (5-16) in Katowice 88-61 on Saturday. Znicz Basket outrebounded AZS AWF Mick. 43-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by AZS AWF Mick.'s players. Swingman Damian Janiak (195-89) nailed 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Filip Put (201-93) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Znicz Basket players scored in double figures. Point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94) came up with 9 points and 7 rebounds and forward Kamil Nowak (197-88) added 11 points respectively for AZS AWF Mick. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Znicz Basket maintains fifth place with 13-8 record, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Newly promoted AZS AWF Mick. dropped to the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Znicz Basket will meet at home higher ranked GKS Tychy (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS AWF Mick. will play against Spojnia (#9) in Stargard and hope to secure a win.
