Regular Season Round 18: FoA - ViVe 77-78

The most exciting game of round 18 in the SM-sarja took place in Forssa. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Forssan Alku (9-9) to second ranked ViVe (13-4) 78-77 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The other American import guard Cori Coleman (173-93, college: Cleveland St.) chipped in 27 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Candice Warthen (165-92, college: Arizona) who recorded 22 points and Noora Jarvikangas (182-94, college: ORU) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Forssan Alku players scored in double figures. ViVe maintains second position with 13-4 record having nine points less than leader Catz. Forssan Alku at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. ViVe are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pyrinto (#9) in Tampere in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Forssan Alku will play on the road against Espoo Team (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
