Regular Season Round 15: Dandenong - Bendigo 82-74

An interesting game for Dandenong Rangers (13-7) which hosted in Dandenong 4th placed Bendigo Spirit (12-8). Third ranked Dandenong Rangers managed to get a 8-point victory 82-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bendigo Spirit. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bendigo Spirit won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dandenong Rangers made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game, while Bendigo Spirit only scored five points from the stripe. It was a great evening for the former international guard Stephanie Cumming (178-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American forward Annalise Pickrel (190-92, college: Michigan St., agency: LBM Management) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dandenong Rangers maintains third place with 13-7 record behind leader Perth. Bendigo Spirit at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Dandenong Rangers will play against bottom-ranked Canberra Capitals (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bendigo Spirit will play against the league's second-placed Townsville Fire (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
