The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Perth Lynx as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Perth Lynx smashed 8th ranked Boomers at home 80-59. The game was mostly controlled by Perth Lynx. Boomers managed to win second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perth Lynx dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Boomers' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Perth Lynx's coach Andy Stewart felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds and international swingman Alice Kunek (187-91) added 13 points in the effort for Boomers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Perth Lynx have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Boomers lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Boomers will play next round against strong Townsville Fire trying to get back on the winning streak. Perth Lynx will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked SEQ in Crestmead.
