Regular Season Round 19: Piombino - Forli 59-60

Fifth-ranked Piombino (12-7) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Forli (17-2). The visitors from Forli managed to secure only one-point victory 60-59. However their fans expected much easier game. Forli outrebounded Piombino 41-29 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Paolo Rotondo (204-89, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Michele Ferri (191-85) helped adding 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side point guard Mattia Venucci (185-90) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and forward Alessio Iardella (193-88) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Forli maintains first place in B with 17-2 record, which they share with Udine APU. Piombino at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Forli will play against Bottegone (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Piombino will play against Livorno (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
