Second Stage Round 4: Hitachi Cougars - Toyota B SR 50-66

Bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 66-50 loss to top-ranked Toyota B SR (4-0) in Hitachinaka. It looked good early as Hitachi Cougars took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toyota B SR had a 14-10 second period charge getting the lead and Hitachi Cougars were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-66. The winners were led by guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) who scored that evening 2 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists and power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) supported her with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Toyota B SR players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by power forward Yuki Toyama (176-91) did not help to save the game for Hitachi Cougars. The former international forward Reika Takahashi (177-88) added 6 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Toyota B SR have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Places 6-11. Hitachi Cougars at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Toyota B SR's next round opponent will be Aishin Wings (#8) in Anjo. Hitachi Cougars will play at home against Niigata R. and hope to get finally their first victory.
