An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Almagra. Third ranked La Union faced top-ranked CASLA. Guests from Formosa (18-14) defeated host CASLA (20-15) 83-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CASLA. CASLA was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shaun Green (203-87, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Alexis Elsener (196-88) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Union maintains third position with 18-14 record having three points less than leader San Lorenzo. Newly promoted CASLA still keeps top place with 15 games lost. La Union will meet Ferrocarril O. (#7) in the next round. CASLA will have a break next round.
