Regular Season Round 36: Shanghai S. - Shandong FB 97-111

Very expected game when 12th ranked Shanghai Sharks (16-20) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Shandong Bulls (27-9) 111-97 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 60-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Shandong Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Shanghai Sharks' 38. Shandong Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) chipped in 36 points (!!!) and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) who recorded 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shandong Bulls maintains fourth position with 27-9 record. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the twelfth place with 20 games lost. Shandong Bulls will face Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo and hope to win that game.
