Regular Season Round 19: Scafati Cesarano - Napoli Basket 69-64

There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Scafati Cesarano (12-7) beat at home much higher ranked Napoli Basket (15-4) 69-64 on Sunday. Scafati Cesarano made 31-of-37 free shots (83.8 percent) during the game. Napoli Basket was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Ernesto Carrichiello (195-84) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. Center Biagio Sergio (199-86) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Christian Villani (200-82) answered with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Armando Iannone (187-90) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Napoli Basket. Napoli Basket's coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Scafati Cesarano maintains sixth place in B with 12-7 record. Loser Napoli Basket keeps the second position with four games lost. Scafati Cesarano will face Roma S.Azzurra (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Napoli Basket will play against Scauri (#7) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
