Very important is a road loss of third ranked Cocodrilos (9-5) against fourth ranked Guaros (9-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Cocodrilos were defeated by Guaros in Barquisimeto 99-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. The game was mostly controlled by Guaros. Cocodrilos was better in second period 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Cocodrilos 42-23 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cocodrilos were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia, agency: Priority Sports) notched 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) supported him with 17 points. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. Even 16 points by American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) did not help to save the game for Cocodrilos. International swingman Cesar Garcia (175-89, agency: Pro Sports) added 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaros moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Cocodrilos. Guaros will play against Gaiteros (#7) in Maracaibo in the next round. Cocodrilos will play at home against the league's leader Marinos (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
