Regular Season Round 16: Chantada - Ourense 53-63

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Ourense (5-5) defeated on the road 7th ranked Chantada (5-6) 63-53 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ourense. Chantada was better in third quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Chantada 37-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Point guard Martin Rodriguez (182-96) fired 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Jacobo De Benito (180-90) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Four Chantada players scored in double figures. Ourense moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B. Chantada lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Ourense will face league's second-placed Grupo Inec Z. in Zamora in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Chantada will play at home against Naron (#5) and hope to win that game.
