Regular Season Round 20: Bauru - Brasilia 94-92

The most exciting game of round 20 in the NBB took place in Bauru. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Brasilia (12-6) to second ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (15-4) 94-92 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Brasilia. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brasilia won third quarter 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Paschoalotto/Bauru won last quarter 24-23. They made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 31 personal fouls committed by Brasilia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) chipped in 20 points. Five Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. International point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) produced 22 points and center Ronald Reis (211-91) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paschoalotto/Bauru have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-4 record behind leader Flamengo. Defending champion Brasilia dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru are looking forward to face Caxias do Sul (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Brasilia will play against Universo/Vitoria (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
