The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Albacete as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Albacete defeated 4th ranked Tenerife Naut. at home 78-71. Albacete forced 22 Tenerife Naut. turnovers. Tenerife Naut. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Garrett Nevels (188, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Massine Fall contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Niang Sergine (200-88) replied with 9 points and 8 rebounds and Swedish point guard Valter Lindstrom (180-95) added 12 points in the effort for Tenerife Naut.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Quintanar. Tenerife Naut. at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Azuqueca. Tenerife Naut. will play next round against Villarrobledo trying to get back on the winning streak. Albacete will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Real Madrid II at home.
