Regular Season Round 34: Hamamatsu P. - Fukuoka Rizing 86-57

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (12-18) was outscored by fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (20-8) in Mikawa 86-57 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hamamatsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fukuoka Rizing to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 44-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 25 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) added 20 points in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Loser Fukuoka Rizing keeps the eighth position with 18 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Bambitious Nara (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Takamatsu FA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
