Regular Season Round 16: Martorell - Castelldefels 41-60

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Castelldefels and 8th ranked Martorell had identical 5-10 record. But Martorell was not able to use a home court advantage and was outplayed by the opponent from Castelldefels 60-41 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Castelldefels led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Martorell to just 5 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Martorell 44-32 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Marc Sese (188-93) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American Rei Jensen (203-90, college: St.Martin's) chipped in 2 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Ruben Morales (193-85) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Nil Sabata (205-96) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Martorell's coach Xavier Garcia let to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Castelldefels (6-10) moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with Pardinyes-L. and Andorra II. Martorell lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Castelldefels will face higher ranked Miramar (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Martorell will play against Santfeliuenc (#4) in Sant Feliu and hope to win that game.
