Regular Season Round 34: Iwate Big Bulls - Aomori Watts 62-73

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Aomori Watts (13-17) won against on the road 8th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (13-15) 73-62 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-62. Aomori Watts made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game, while Iwate Big Bulls only scored three points from the stripe. Strangely Iwate Big Bulls outrebounded Aomori Watts 39-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Patrick Sanders (201-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Interperformances) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aomori Watts maintains ninth position with 13-17 record. Loser Iwate Big Bulls keep the eighth place with 15 games lost. Aomori Watts will face Tokyo Cinq R. (#12) at home in the next round.
