Regular Season Round 31: Union SF - Echague 90-66
Date: January 31, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Santa Fe where 5th ranked Echague (11-14) was rolled over by second ranked Union SF (15-11) 90-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Union SF led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Union SF looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Jonathan Durley (203-88, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Italian Juan Kelly (190-88) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists. Union SF's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Santiago Gonzalez (203-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Lisandro Ruiz Moreno (183-89) scored 13 points. Five Union SF and four Echague players scored in double figures. Union SF maintains second place with 15-11 record having one point less than leader Platense. Loser Echague keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Union SF will have a break next round. Echague will play on the road against the league's leader San Isidro (#1) in San Francisco and hope to win that game.
