Regular Season Round 36: Beijing Ducks - Fujian QB 118-111

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Beijing Ducks (22-14) defeated at home 14th ranked Fujian (15-21) 118-111 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 118-111. Beijing Ducks made 25-of-26 free shots (96.2 percent) during the game. Beijing Ducks outrebounded Fujian 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The other American import guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 27 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who recorded 44 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) added 20 points respectively. Five Beijing Ducks and four Fujian players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 22-14 record. Loser Fujian keeps the fourteenth place with 21 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#9) in Taiyuan in the next round. Fujian will play at home against Jilin Tigers (#17) and hope to win that game.
