Second Stage Round 4: Denso Iris - JX-Eneos S. 77-82

JX-Eneos S. can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kariya, where they defeated Denso Iris (1-3) 82-77 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Denso Iris won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JX-Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Denso Iris' 38 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Denso Iris 49-22 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and point guard Aya Okamoto (161-91) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Minami Iju (168-90) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion (1-2) left bottom position moving up to third place in Places 1-5, which they share with Chanson V-M. Loser Denso Iris dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. JX-Eneos S. will meet at home Chanson V-M (#4) in the next round. Denso Iris will have a break next round.
