Very predictable result in Zgorzelec where fourth ranked Anwil (14-5) smashed 11th ranked PGE Turow (8-10) 94-75 on Monday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 19 points. Anwil outrebounded PGE Turow 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90) scored 21 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Anwil's coach Igor Milicic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) scored 9 points and 9 assists. Anwil moved-up to second place, which they share with Torun. Loser PGE Turow keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Anwil will face MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. PGE Turow will play against Rosa in Radom and hope to win that game.
