Regular Season Round 24: Arak - Chemidor 82-97

The game between Top Four teams took place in Arak. One of their biggest challengers host Arak (15-8) lost to third ranked Chemidor (16-6) 97-82. It looked good early as Arak took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Chemidor had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and Arak was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-97. Chemidor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Arak's 30. Chemidor forced 19 Arak turnovers. The winners were led by the former international point guard Farid Aslani (183-88) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 assists and the former international forward Amir Sedighi (203-93) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Chemidor players scored in double figures. Even 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by Croatian power forward Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) did not help to save the game for Arak. International center Asghar Kardoust (212-86) added 17 points and 6 rebounds. Arak's coach Mohammad Kasaeipour rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chemidor have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Chemidor maintains third position with 16-6 record having four points less than leader Petrochimi. Arak at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
