Regular Season Round 18: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Hapoel Eilat 86-78

Everything could happen in Hod Hasharon at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Bnei Hasharon and 8th ranked Hapoel Eilat had identical 8-8 record. This time Bnei Hasharon used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Eilat 86-78. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 30-23. But Hapoel Eilat won second period 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bnei Hasharon won last quarter 25-19. The best player for the winners was American guard Stephen Dennis (198-87, college: Kutztown, agency: HMS) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Aviram Zelkovits (192-89) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (210-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Despite that victory Bnei Hasharon went down to sixth position due to points difference. Hapoel Eilat at the other side dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Bnei Hasharon's next round opponent will be Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#9) on the road. Hapoel Eilat will play against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem and hope to win that game.
