Regular Season Round 11: Artemisa - Guantanamo 81-86

The game in Artemisa was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Guantanamo (4-7) played at the court of 6th ranked Los Toros (5-7). Guantanamo managed to secure a 5-point victory 86-81 on Tuesday. Guantanamo forced 24 Los Toros turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Elvis Pons (194-83) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Raudelis Guerra (191-93) accounted for 18 points and 6 steals for the winning side. Five Guantanamo players scored in double figures. Swingman Joice Daudinot (194-85) came up with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Humberto Garcia (203-85) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Los Toros in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Guantanamo went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Los Toros dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Guantanamo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Los Toros will play again against Guantanamo (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
