Regular Season Round 16: Ramat Hasharon - Hapoel G/A 83-71

There was a change at the National League leadership position after last games. Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Hapoel Afula (12-4). They were defeated by ninth ranked Hasharon (7-9) 83-71 on Tuesday night. Hasharon made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Hasharon outrebounded Hapoel Afula 44-27 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hasharon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Lorenzo Gordon (201-83, college: Oklahoma City) who added 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Hasharon players scored in double figures. At the losing side Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Tomer Ber-Aven (196-92) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel Migd.H. Hapoel Afula at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Ironi K-A. They were replaced at the leadership position by Galil Gilboa. Hapoel Afula will play next round against Hapoel Kfar Saba trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hasharon will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Hapoel Kazrin on the road.
