Regular Season Round 38: Shanghai S. - Qingdao E. 105-104

Date: February 5, 2016
Important game to mention about took place in Shanghai. Twelfth ranked Shanghai Sharks (18-20) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 14th ranked Qingdao Eagles (16-22) 105-104 on Friday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Qingdao Eagles won fourth quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Qingdao Eagles outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 65-47 including a 34-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 38 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) notched 45 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Quanxi Wu (210-94) supported him with 24 points and 19 rebounds. Even 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists by American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) did not help to save the game for Qingdao Eagles. His fellow American import center Alan Williams (203-93, college: UCSB) added 19 points and 20 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Shanxi Zh. Qingdao Eagles at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Fujian QB.
