Regular Season Round 38: DongGuan L. - Jiangsu D. 106-82

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked DongGuan Leopards and 11th ranked Jiangsu Dragons had identical 18-19 record. This time DongGuan Leopards used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Nanjing 106-82 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 19-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-82. DongGuan Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 36 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 50-32 including 36 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when DongGuan Leopards made 9 blocks. American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 24 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five DongGuan Leopards players scored in double figures. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Lin Chang (206-88, college: Long Beach St.) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. DongGuan Leopards (19-19) moved-up to ninth place. Jiangsu Dragons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 20 games lost.
