Regular Season Round 17: Cornella - Mollet 91-94

Rather predictable result when second ranked Mollet (13-3) edged on the road 6th ranked Cornella (7-8) 94-91 on Saturday. Mollet made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Antoni Gomez (-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Albert Griso (202-85) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) answered with 21 points and 7 assists and center Alexandre Sanmartin (202-84) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cornella. Four Cornella players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Mollet maintains second place in Group C-A with 13-3 record having five points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Cornella lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Mollet will face league's leader Quart at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cornella will play against Masnou (#7) in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
