Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Isernia and 14th ranked Fondi had identical 3-16 record. But Fondi was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Isernia 85-82 on Saturday night. Isernia forced 20 Fondi turnovers. Strangely Fondi outrebounded Isernia 39-22 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Albanian power forward Klaudio Patani (190-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Isernia players scored in double figures. Point guard Antonello Lilliu (182-82) replied with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and guard Dario Cappiello (191-88) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Fondi. Isernia (4-16) moved-up to thirteenth place in B. Loser Fondi dropped to the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Isernia will face league's second-placed Napoli Basket at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fondi will play against Cassino (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
