Regular Season Round 21: Alvik Basket - Telge 81-56

The game in Stockholm supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed Telge (13-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Alvik Basket (11-10). Alvik Basket smashed Telge 81-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik Basket. Telge managed to win second period 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alvik Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Telge's 26. Alvik Basket forced 21 Telge turnovers and outrebounded them 59-30 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Telge's players. American center Shareta Brown (185-93, college: Wayne St., MI, agency: Merit Management Group) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and point guard Klara Lundquist (171-99) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. Alvik Basket's coach Francisco Pinto felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Frida Fogdemark (185-91, college: Georgia Tech) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Taneisha Harrison (182-89, college: Pittsburgh) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Telge in the defeat. Alvik Basket have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 11-10 record. Telge lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Alvik Basket will meet at home Visby Ladies (#8) in the next round. Telge will have a break next round.
