Regular Season Round 35: Shimane SM - Hiroshima L. 139-63

Very expected game when 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-24) was crushed on the road by third ranked Shimane Magic (22-9) 139-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 34. Shimane Magic forced 19 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 50-11 including a 15-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shimane Magic shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. It was a great evening for American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 25 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) helped adding 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Tetsuya Maemura responded with 28 points and Ayumu Osawa (-91) scored 13 points. Shimane Magic maintains third place with 22-9 record behind leader Okinawa GK. Hiroshima L. lost fifteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 24 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again Hiroshima L. (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
