Regular Season Round 18: San Salvatore - Marghera 70-62

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked San Salvatore and 9th ranked Marghera had identical 7-10 record. This time San Salvatore used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Venezia 70-62 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Marghera won fourth quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. San Salvatore forced 20 Marghera turnovers. The best player for the winners was Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Giorgia Manfrc (183-92) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. San Salvatore (8-10) moved-up to eighth place in A2. Newly promoted Marghera keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. San Salvatore will face higher ranked Vicenza (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Marghera will play against Alpo VR (#6) and hope to win that game.
