Regular Season Round 17: Clavijo - Venta de Banos 81-64

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Venta de Banos (3-10) lost to ninth ranked Clavijo (5-8) in Logrono 64-81 on Saturday. Forward Enrique Suarez (192-83) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Brais Gago (180-96) contributed with 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. Clavijo's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Oscar Gomez (203-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Juan Pedro Garcia (192-88) added 14 points in the effort for Venta de Banos. Five Clavijo and four Venta de Banos players scored in double figures. Clavijo maintains ninth place in Group A-A with 5-8 record. Venta de Banos lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Clavijo will face higher ranked TAKE Tolosa (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Venta de Banos will play against Burgos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
