Regular Season Round 18: Olesnica - Gniezno 95-63

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Olesnica (6-12) outscored at home bottom-ranked Gniezno (0-18) 95-63 on Saturday. Olesnica dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gniezno's 36. They outrebounded Gniezno 44-26 including a 35-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olesnica looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Gniezno's players. The best player for the winners was Kacper Kuta (191-94) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Grzegorz Kaczmarek (193-83) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Olesnica players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Mateusz Bilski (199-89) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and Michal Kafarski (192-92) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olesnica moved-up to eighth place in Group D, which they share with AZS PP. Gniezno at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Olesnica will face Otmuchow (#10) on the road in the next round. Gniezno will play against Miedzychod and hopes to get finally their first victory.
