Regular Season Round 17: Rosalia - Vigren 77-87

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Rosalia (2-10) lost to fourth ranked Vigren (8-3) in Santiago de Camp. 77-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vigren. Rosalia was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Rosalia 37-26 including 32 on the defensive glass. British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Rodrigo Cid Garcia (196-96) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Vigren players scored in double figures. Guard Anton Bouzan (188-95) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American center John Swords (213-92, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Rosalia. Rosalia's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Vigren. They moved-up to second place in Group A-B. Loser Rosalia keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Vigren will face Leon (#5) at home in the next round. Rosalia will play against Mieres BVM (#4) and hope to win that game.
