Regular Season Round 20: Al Wakrah - Qatar 79-52

Date: February 6, 2016
The game between fifth ranked Al Wakrah (7-10) and 9th ranked Qatar Sports Club (3-14) in Al Wakrah on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Al Wakrah outscored guests from Doha 79-52. The game without a history. Al Wakrah led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Court Side) who scored that evening 27 points and the former international center Mame Souleye (206-87) supported him with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Al Wakrah's coach Ihab Jalal felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by American power forward Malcolm White (205-88, college: LSU) did not help to save the game for Qatar Sports Club. His fellow American import guard Dontell Jefferson (196-83, college: Arkansas) added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Al Wakrah maintains fifth position with 7-10 record, which they share with Al Shamal and Al Khor. Loser Qatar Sports Club keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. Al Wakrah will meet at home Al Arabi (#8) in the next round. Qatar Sports Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Gharafa.
