The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Le Mans as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Le Mans defeated 10th ranked Olympique Antibes at home 74-67. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Le Mans made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (204-90, college: Villanova) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) helped adding 18 points. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. Le Mans' coach Erman Kunter used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Akil Mitchell (203-92, college: Virginia) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Olympique Antibes keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Limoges. Olympique Antibes will play next round against Cholet Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Le Mans will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez on the road.
