Regular Season Round 20: Roma S.Azzurra - Scafati Cesarano 85-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Scafati Cesarano (12-8) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Roma S.Azzurra (8-12) 85-77 on Saturday. Scafati Cesarano was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Roma S.Azzurra dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Scafati Cesarano's 26. Roma S.Azzurra looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Montenegrin forward Todor Radonjic (200-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Mattia Da Campo (197-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Four Roma S.Azzurra players scored in double figures. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Germano D'Arcangeli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Vincenzo Di Capua (186-87) replied with 21 points and guard Ernesto Carrichiello (195-84) added 18 points in the effort for Scafati Cesarano. Roma S.Azzurra moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Varese Coels. Newly promoted Scafati Cesarano dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Roma S.Azzurra will face Catanzaro (#9) on the road in the next round.
