Regular Season Round 17: RC Celta - Adareva 69-62

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Real Celta Vigo (6-11) won against at home 4th placed Adareva (12-5) 69-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 37-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Real Celta Vigo outrebounded Adareva 43-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. American-Nigerian guard Sarah Ogoke (175-90, college: So.Poly State) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Cristina Salinas (162-93) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American-Nigerian swingman Anma Onyeuku (181-91, college: Hofstra) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Laura Bejarano (180-82) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Adareva. Real Celta Vigo moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada. Newly promoted Adareva keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face league's leader Al-Qazeres in Caceres in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Adareva will play at home against Arxil Pontevedra and hope to win that game.
