Regular Season Round 18: Ferrara - Palermo 77-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ferrara. Second ranked Ferrara faced 4th ranked Palermo. Host Ferrara (16-2) defeated guests from Palermo (11-7) 77-62. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Palermo managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Liliana Miccio (182-89) who scored 19 points. Power forward Alice Nori (183-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Ferrara's coach Giuliano Stibiel used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) who recorded 16 points and point guard Elettra Ferretti (175-93) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Ferrara and four Palermo players scored in double figures. Ferrara maintains second position in A2 with 16-2 record having four points less than leader Broni. Newly promoted Palermo keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Ferrara are again looking forward to face Palermo (#4) at home in the next round. Palermo will have a break next round.
