Regular Season Round 15: Meteors - WIT Wildcats 83-74

Very important is a road loss of second ranked WIT Wildcats (9-4) against fifth ranked Meteors (8-5) on Saturday night. Visiting WIT Wildcats were defeated by Meteors in a tough game in Dublin 74-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of WIT Wildcats. It was a good game for American forward Emily Leer (188-92, college: Villanova) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Beth Meany (168-90) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Jazmen Boone (173, college: William & Mary) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 19 rebounds and the former international guard Cathy Kavanagh (187-90) added 23 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for WIT Wildcats. Meteors moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Killester. WIT Wildcats at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. They share it with TM Hotel Cork. Meteors' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena 11890 Killester.
