Regular Season Round 17: Arxil Pontev. - Ensino 80-86

Round 17 most important game was a victory of Maquinaria Ensino over 8th ranked Arxil Pontevedra 86-80 on Saturday night. Maquinaria Ensino made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Guard Tamara Montero (168-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) contributed with 27 points for the winners. American-Jamaican power forward Yanique Gordon (193-91, college: Cent.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Maria Gonzalez (180-93) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Arxil Pontevedra. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maquinaria Ensino (10-7) moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Aros Leon and C.Adelantados. Arxil Pontevedra at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Maquinaria Ensino is looking forward to face league's second-placed GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arxil Pontevedra will play on the road against Adareva (#4) in SC Laguna and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
